Hall Change!

St Faith's Parish Hall, adjacent to the church and vicarage,
has been subject to a rolling programme of upgrading and renovation in recent years,
with a view to improving its value both as a church resource and as a source of income
from the groups and activities which make use of it throughout the week.
Following the completion of a major refitting of the hall kitchen, and of the toilet facilities,
including provision of a disabled toilet, it was time for redecoration of the hall itself.

Thanks to the dedicated work of a small group of church members,
funds were raised and donations and gifts of money and materials were obtained,
and the work of preparation and painting undertaken over the summer.

The work is now effectively finished -  although here are inevitably plans for the next onslaught! - and the gallery
below shows progress from the in-house stripping and sanding work to the professional painting,
together with some of the hard-working amateurs applying the final touches.
The infamous pink paint which for many years had covered the ceiling and beams has been replaced,
and the whole hall looks sparkling new, light and airy.

31st August 2012: the day before the hall returns to use, the finishing squad works to cover the last pipes and woodwork,
and admire the almost-finished product. A job well done by all!
