In the beginning were the oranges...
... and the Christingle Creators fashioned them into the traditional form, and sat down and rejoiced over soup.
On Christmas Eve the children gathered around the crib, in place as ever
beneath the nave altar, to hear Denise tell the little and the large the story of the nativity.
At the Midnight Mass (well it was at 11.00 pm this year) the Christmas story
was acted out for adults with light, music, ritual, word and sacrament.
But Christmas begins on the 25th, not, as the world will have it, ending then,
and the unfolding of the incarnation is being set forth from the Feast of Stephen
and on through the glory of the Christmas Season.
