Confirmation and Craft
Two successive weekends at the end of November 2008 saw two very
different United Benefice occasions at St Faith's.
On Sunday, November 23rd, candidates
from both churches were confirmed by Bishop Martyn Jarrett, with one
member of the congregation making an affirmation of her Baptismal
vows,
and two being received into the Church
of England. The first five pictures below show the candidates before
the service, then afterwards with the Bishop and the Vicar.
A big congregation then enjoyed a fine
buffet in the hall, and admired the special Confirmation Cake.
Those confirmed were Gareth Griffiths, Brian Evison, Michael Taylor,
Zoe Taylor, and Barrie
Johnson,
Those received into the
Communion of the Church of England were Paula O’Shaughnessy &
Michael Shields
Eunice Little renewed her Baptismal
Promises.
On the following Saturday, our annual
Craft and Activity morning took place. In the Hall, a squad of skilled
and crafty helpers helped children to make a range of decorative items.
These were shown off to their parents
in church at the end of the morning, where each child lit a candle and
Fr Neil read out the prayers each had written earlier.
Saint Faith gave her blessing to the
children, and looked modestly please with the success of the event!
