Good Friday

The cross is borne by reverent stages from the back of church to its housing before the nave altar ... 
there, hung with a barbed wire crown of thorns, it is the focus of devotions

Easter Eve

There is much to do as Lent gives way to Easter ... the banners are hoisted ... 
there is ironing to be done by the Little Sisters of the press ... lots of brass to be buffed up ...
the Easter Garden to be created beneath the pulpit (and a display to frame the preachers) ....
the Stations of the Cross return to the Chapel of the Cross ... the Stations of the Resurrection
 take their place around the church ... and flower ladies pose by one of their creations.
