On Parade for Harvest 2015

At the morning service on Sunday, October 4th, we celebrated our Harvest Festival.

The young people of our uniformed organisations, making  a welcome return now that the season of summer camps and weekend activities is over,
played a full part in the service. As this is also the season of Francistide, when we remember the life and story of St Francis of Assisi,
the children brought to life the story of St Francis taming the wolf. They took part in the readings and the prayers
and gathered round the nave altar for the prayer of consecration. Although there was the usual colourful display in front of the altar,
we were asked, rather than bring offerings of produce and harvested goods, to donate to Christian Aid.
