Eating
at Epiphany-tide
The United Benefice Senior Citizens' over-70s Christmas
dinner for A.D. 2010 was postponed because of the atrocious
weather of just over a year ago, and held
instead at the end of
January 2011. Everyone involved, on both sides of the serving
hatch, thought this was a blessing in disguise, taking the
pressure off
us in the mad pre-Christmas
weeks and filling a gap in the relatively quiet month of
January. So the next one - and very probably
future ones - was scheduled
for late January (Sunday 29th, following the joint 'Liturgy
and Lunch' eucharist), and it proved highly popular and
successful.
Those present revelled in
soup, roast beef and Yorkshire, sticky toffee pudding and
coffee, as well as partaking of sherry and wine.
As the pictures on this and
the linked second page show, the proverbial Good Time Was Had
By All.
