Good Friday and Holy Saturday 2013

The most solemn day of the church's year was marked by an ecumenical gathering of witness in the grounds of the Civic Hall in Waterloo.
Later, the solemn liturgy of Good Friday was enacted at St Faith's, with veneration of the cross and the receiving of Holy Communion in one kind only.
The service ended as always at 3.00 pm, traditionally the hour of Christ's crucifixion.

The morning of Holy Saturday saw the church restored to its pre-Lenten splendour, with the revealing of the High Altar reredos,
the replacing of the Great Crucifix in its usual position above the altar in the Chapel of the Cross,
the placing of the Stations of the Resurrection around the church and the unveiling of the statues.
The church was decked with flowers and the brassware was being made ready for the colourful celebrations
that are to follow at the Vigil on Easter Eve (later this same day) and the great triumphant liturgy of Easter morning tomorrow.
